The Atlas Orthogonal Difference: How Our Fort Worth Atlas Orthogonist Can Change Your Life

Are you frustrated with persistent ache and pains in your back, neck, legs arms, head or joints? Are you searching for an effective treatment that won’t require medication or surgery? Atlas Orthogonal care from our Fort Worth chiropractor, Dr. Chris Michlin, can help. Many of these pain and health problems are associated with an imbalance of the spinal column. Incorrect alignment in the spine affects the brain’s ability to seamlessly send messages through the central nervous system. Think of the nervous system as a major super highway: if there’s a blockage at the first on-ramp, information is unable to reach its final destination, much less begin the journey! However, if you could remove this blockage, messages could freely flow along the central nervous system. The atlas vertebra is this “first entrance”; it’s the single bone that controls the alignment of the entire spine.

Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic care comes from many years of clinical research pointing to the fact that much of the problem associated with spinal misalignment and its consequences can be associated with the atlas vertebra, the top cervical bone in the neck.  This one bone can affect the alignment of the entire spine. Just like the first link in a chain, if the atlas vertebra is twisted or turned, the chain will also be out of alignment. Consider the atlas the first, and therefore the most important, link in that chain. Restoring the atlas vertebra to correct alignment brings alignment back to the entire spine, allowing the free flow of information through the central nervous system and empowering the body to heal itself from within.

The human body is balanced when the head is positioned in the center of the feet. When the atlas is misaligned it causes the head to tilt. The spine then shifts to support the weight of the head, thereby creating bio-mechanical and postural stresses and strains. When the atlas bone is properly aligned, that is in the orthogonal-or neutral-position, the rest of the spinal vertebra come into better alignment allowing the body to heal itself. The delicate and complex connections of the nervous system allow communication between the systems of the body.

Many studies have found this treatment effective for both adults and children, even possibly reducing the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Our patients have reported that the AO techniques has reduced or eliminated migraine headache pain, face pain (Trigeminal Neuralgia), bed wetting, ear infections, allergies, high blood pressure, and other ailments.

Fort Worth Headache, Migraine and Back Pain Patients Finding Relief

Fort Worth headache, migraine and back pain patients have all seen an improvement after AO treatments. Those with upper cervical pain, sciatica, scoliosis, chronic migraines, headache pain, and other spinal related problems have all seen a reduction in pain and re-occurrences of symptoms after AO treatments from Dr. Michlin.

Patients with other life changing neurological disorders have also found relief through the AO technique, including Chiari Malformation Syndrome and Multiple Sclerosis to name a few. Chiari Malformation Syndrome is characterized by a structural defect in the part of the brain that controls balance, causing pain and problems with movement. Multiple Sclerosis is an autoimmune disease that affects the brain and spinal cord. Patients with fibromyalgia, a disease that causes body wide pain in joints and tendons, have also seen a remarkable benefit.

Dr. Michlin is the only chiropractor in North Texas who is a Board Certified Atlas Orthogonist. Our Fort Worth chiropractor Dr. Michlin uses a precise system of examination, x-rays, and diagnosis to safely and effectively adjust the atlas vertebra. Patients come from as far as Honduras to receive his care! Through intervention using the Atlas Orthogonal Adjusting Instrument, as well as a wide range of full spine care, most patients are able to improve their condition and resume normal activities. Imagine, a life lived to the fullest and no longer hindered by chronic pain!

Dr. Chris Michlin has also earned an advanced certification in Whiplash and Brain Injury Traumatology through the Spine Research Institute of San Diego in 2014 and 2018.

Fort Worth, DFW, and other North Texas patients interested in more information on our clinic and the Atlas Orthogonal method may schedule an appointment by calling our office at 817.810.9111.
