Symptoms of Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia has many symptoms. These include pain and stiffness in various areas of the body. Symptoms may even come in the form of pain in the face and tingling or numbness in the feet and hands. Some patients also experience bloating, abdominal pain, and irritable bowel syndrome. Fibromyalgia can also cause poor sleep and tiredness. For many patients, fibromyalgia leads to anxiety and depression. With the various symptoms of fibromyalgia, it may also lead to other secondary issues such as insomnia, mental health and emotional problems.

Some patients with this condition also have frustrating cognitive symptoms. These include memory problems and challenges with concentrating. In addition, fibromyalgia can also cause headaches and migraines as well.

When people have this condition, they have a higher-than-normal pain sensitivity. In this case the body does not process the feeling of pain properly to the point of normally painless sensations becoming extremely painful. Among adults in the U.S., about 2% of the population have this condition. This adds up to around four million patients with the condition in America. The exact cause of fibromyalgia hasn't been discovered, and there's no cure for this condition as of yet.  However, there are ways to help treat the condition and relieve pain.

Atlas Orthogonal

This is a type of chiropractic technique that can help with a numerous problems, including chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia. Atlas Orthogonal is a technique that focuses on the top bone of the neck, called the Atlas (C1). This bone cradles the skull and houses the nexus of communication between the brain and the rest of the body. Unfortunately, just like any other vertebra of the spine, it can become misaligned. Since this key area of the spinal cord can affect any and all parts of the nervous system, impingement can create a wide range of symptoms, such as, idiopathic pain pathways. In other words, seemingly random symptoms which lead to the diagnosis of fibromyalgia.

Atlas Orthogonal adjusts this bone with the help of the Atlas Orthogonal Precision Adjusting Instrument. Dr. Michlin uses this gentle, yet specific instrument to re-align the Atlas, creating a chain reaction throughout the spine. When the Atlas is properly aligned, the communication pathway between the brain and the body is unobstructed. This has the effect of eliminating many aches, pains, and bodily dysfunctions.
